well... attachement as usual during the weekdays... was too tired to go strings.... well.. totally drained out... by the time i reach nyp, i'll be a walking zombie.... plus i won't have time for dinner... :(

okay.. went to ps on saturday.... met up with SJA... omg!!! i missed her so much!!! we had cake at sweet secrets... hehe.. and we talked and talked and talked.... dear me... SJA is stuck in a sticky dilema... hahaha.. just when i got out of mine... well... it's my turn to support her now i guess... hahaha... time passed by really really fast... and like we both felt like we wanted to talk more!!!! went to daiso, spent quite some time in there... just walking around... hahaha... i got 3 fans!!!! lol!!!! to fan the hot weather away... hahaha... now i have different fans for my different moods.... also went to erm... the headphones shop... i think it's called stereo or something... went gaga over all the pretty pretty headphones there.... they had this 'radioactive' one... this skull one... marvel comics one... and oh... i also saw bleach headphones at another shop... it was some anime shop i think... can't remember the names....

sunday was family day... treat my family to japanese food... omg.. i'm broke now... and went to buy groceries with the family... i got my horlicks malties!!!!! hahaha!! i love them!!! but i think i'm a weird person... because i hate drinking horlicks... it makes me want to puke... but i love eating the horlicks sweet... which is like... horlicks powder compressed into tablets.... hahaha...i also hate eating fresh rambutan, lychees, longans etc... but i don't mind eating the canned kind.... hahaha...

last sunday - went out with zx and natoz!!! :) so good to see them again.. we walked a lot and shopped a lot ate a lot and talked a lot... :) well, the typical stuff that girls do... hahaha... i'm really happy to have friends like them.. i can tell them anything and everything about me... i really trust them i guess... and natoz will always give her pondering look before giving advice.. haha... :) and zx will keep asking for more juicy details... and well... they are really quite mature and sometimes i feel like they are the ones who are older than me... haha.. and i got my tony tony chopper shirt!!! yay!!! and natoz got her batman shirt!!! XD and yeah.. the shirts are supposely for guys... but who cares... i don't give a shit about the girly girly designs for girls... like.. guy's shirts are always way cooler looking!!!! sign... and i can't really stand the fact that girl's shirts are always full of *coughs* flowers, frills and cutesy characters.... welll... i shall stop my rant about girly shirts now...

saturday - piano lessons... rushed down to nyp after that... it was raining so heavily... but oh.. i love the rain (if i'm in a sheltered place) hahaha... it's soothing i guess... just the pitter patter of raindrops... and the silence because everyone is hiding at home or something.... well... reached strings room at about 4 i think... and wow.. i was quite shocked at the number of people there... and everyone was like: Helen!! long time no see!!! and i was like: erm... that long ah? well... time passes really fast during attachment i guess.... like... 6 weeks have passed since i started attachment... well... i shall think of it as 25% of the battle won... another 18 more weeks to go!! gogo yilin you can do it!!! :D interacted with the freshies a little... talked to zx too... and ohoh... the investiture was scary... i don't like to go up on stage.. my legs feel like it's turning to jelly and my hands were all trembling when i took the cert and everything... went out to bishan to makan after the investiture... talked alot to ridwan and theodore... talked to sabrina too... she seemed, really upset over some stupid jerk... i couldn't help but feel really angry... that bastard really likes to make girls cry... i'll seriously kill him if he tries to hit on any year ones... i tried comforting her... but it was kind of hard... i suck at comforting people... i can always only, stand there dumbly and say: eh, don't cry lah... *passes packet of tissue*

well, she didn't join us for dinner.. because of some idiot... and yeah... me, ridwan and theodore just ignored him for most of the time i guess... everyone is kind of pissed off with him... so yeah... we ate at erm.. some hawker centre.. can't remember the name.... ridwan, theodore, charlene, yc and me sat at the same table... we ate/ drank... and had a great game of truth of dare... okay.. more of truth or truth... haha... we learnt a lot about our *ehem* scandalous lives... lol!!! it was so funny lah!!! walked around j8... talked more... and then went home... it was a very awkward train ride... i'm very sorry yc, for putting you through this!!! so after that, me and yc started talking... and well... she was so funny.. haha... and yes, i miss talking to a fellow otaku... well... i miss talking to sarah too,,, with the scandals... and fiona and sakura, the bishie talk.... and oh.. so many other people i miss back in school... sigh!!! what's this horrible feeling of regret i have now? all the scandalous talk last night made me remember things from the far off past...


I should have held you tighter... It might have been if i worked harder and gone to JC, because now we are worlds apart....

It's Friday!!! omg!!!! So happy!! Finally!! I can sleep!!! :D

Well.. Learnt a lot as usual this week... >_< stressful but fun... haha... it's a life of extremes in the lab... either you are super bored while waiting for incubation... or you are like trying to do 2,3 or 4 things at one go simultaneously... so yeah.. your brain can seriously explode when trying to ‘multitask’... thoughts will probably run like this... (for me at least, i don’t know how other people do their multitasking thoughts...)

Okay, so the 310310(B) membrane is in the 2nd wash of primary antibody, and the 100410(T) is currently incubating for 1 hour, and need to prepare substrate for 040210(B) membrane, need to put the parafilm on the table, need to prewarm substrate, need to prepare 1ml since it is half a membrane, solution an B ratio for substrate is 1:40, so need to add 25ul of B and 1ml of A... need to prepare C fold towel and kimwipes for dying membrane, can also prepare cassette for the exposure later... *glances over* hmmm, can go prepare some running buffer after i do exposure, it’s running low... etc...

Basically, i just talk to myself in my head and list the things i have to do in order, i also try to utilise my time so i can finish earlier... phew... sometimes i even have to rush back from lunch... but i’d rather have a short lunch break and end earlier.. haha...
Yepps... basically, that’s all for my attachment... haha.. and thank god for the timers!!! I love you timers!!! I can’t survive without you in the lab!!! And my exercise book too!!! Without you, i’ll be screwing up all my western blots...

Haha... continuing the extremes of the lab... the extreme temperatures, haha.. i like to play with the ‘snow’ in the -80˚C fridges... and i like to heat up my fingers using the 100˚C heat blocks after that... haha... and also... you will start to feel super hungry before lunch... and you will feel super full after lunch... haha.. the lab can also be super noisy at times when everyone is like yelling and shouting (in jest) at each other... or it will suddenly be vacant and like have nobody around... haha.... to tell the truth, i enjoy being in the lab... it’s quite fun to work there, and the people there are all very friendly and funny... it somehow has that strings feeling... haha... well... at least the strings feeling last time.... now like different already.... so yeah... things are different now i guess...

Ah.. time!!! I need more time!!! The piano like no time to practice, and i want to like ban all my house television from showing Taiwanese variety shows... it’s idiotic, you don’t learn anything from it, and no, it’s not funny... like wtf? Watching Taiwanese variety shows take priority over practicing the piano? yes.. it’s just that idiotic in my house... my youngest sister always get her way.... i can’t practice when she is watching her show right? Her stupid zhuan shi ye zhong hui whatever show with the bisexual or transvestite host or was it hermaphrodite host? Argh!!! I don’t know lah.... and the accursed tv set will be switched on from the moment i step into the house until 10plus at night...and by then it is too late to practice... fuck lah!!! It’s really irritating me!!! I hate her!! So damned selfish!!! She doesn’t even practice, and she still demands for guitar lessons, canoeing lessons... and she wastes her time watching stupid variety shows, or going on facebook, or watching her taiwanese dramas... i don’t have anything against Taiwanese stuff... it’s just my sister doesn’t do the right thing at the right time and is wasting our parents’ money... argh!! and my mum is not helping either... like whatever, you never helped.. you only side with that Taiwanese variety show woman... so yeah... i have to do things myself, be independent and help out that Taiwanese variety show woman at the same time.... right.. i hate this i hate this i hate this!!!! Can i smash the tv set? I don’t care if it’s new... stupid tv shows... no wonder children nowadays don’t know anything except for the newest entertainment news...

Ps: if she was watching a BBC/ Animal planet documentary, i wouldn’t complain... and if i had kids, i won't allow them to watch crappy tv shows.... at least watch something more meaningful... and argh!! the tv is damn loud... argh!!!! gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!

okay.... pretty hectic week....

monday: cca.... still coughing....

tuesday: rushing report for cell technology ELISA practical...

wednesday: cca... rushing report for human biology and disease endocrine and blood system reports... cough worse....

thursday: analytical biochemistry practical test.... did bradford assay.... nearly died from nervousness... my hand was like shaking when i was pipetting and pouring all protein samples and bradford reagent... the graph came out quite okay.. but i had no idea how to calculate the last question...

friday: woke up at 5.30am when alarm rang... but went back to sleep... woke up again at 6.50am... and i thought it was only 5.50am.. so i continued to take my time to slowly brush my teeth in a zombie like way... it was only when i was packing my bag that i saw that it was 6.50 and that i'm frigging late for school.... so tried to eat breakfast quickly and leave house.. but throat was painful and raw after coughing the whole night.. so had difficulty swallowing bread... ended up eating slowly and reading newspapers... left house at 7.40... boarded bus at 7.55.... reached yck at 9..... entered the lecture hall at 9.10... luckily... it was the second part of the lecture after the 10mins break... so lecturer didn't really notice.... argh... totally missed the first part of the lecture and my attendance wasn't taken either.. argh.. never mind.. doesn't matter.. i went for all the other lectures.. so i don't think one missed lecture will hurt...

went to amk hub after lec to watch G.I Joe with sarah, hayden and shilka...erm... pretty predictable plot... lots of actions, computer graphics also not bad, got hot girls, loud explosion noises, the slow motion effect when the hero is trying to dodge an attack, a smart aleck 'sidekick' who is the only source of humour in the whole show.... hmm.. your typical guys action flick... guys would like this i guess... not too bad... but still... you have this feeling that the movie 'cheated' you of your money... also partly because of the ambiguous ending which screams: get ready for a sucky sequel!!! well... it's true.. 99% of movie/ drama/ anime sequels suck.... and remakes are not counted... remakes are like.. redoing the original to make it better.. although the failure rate for remakes is also quite high because people tend to compare it to the older version...

went back to school for national day celebrations.. damn boring.. they just did a showcase of NE projects and the end!!! Lol... but there was free high tea though.. but i couldn’t eat any of the food!!! Except for the sandwiches... and sarah was like pigging out on the brownies....

went to see the doctor at night... got like 4 types of medicine to eat.. there's the icky tasting cough syrup (the brown one that looks black when in the bottle..) the green round pills for phlegm... the light blue ones for runny nose.. and the yellow and brown antibiotic capsules... i keep thinking they are the colour of bumble bees... lol... and the green one for phlegm is like the magic green crystals from james and the giant peach.... haha... i know i’m weird.. but at least it makes the medicine seem less gross to eat....
